Weekend Wrap Up: The Jimmy Legs Edition

We started the weekend like we usually do, with a howling session:

I spent the rest of my Friday night online buying a flat kit for my bike.  I'm a baller like that.

On Saturday, I coached my Potato To Tomato group.  We're practicing on the course now, so they're getting a crash course in hills.  They hate it, but it'll help on race day.  Afterwards, Lana & I had open water swim practice.  The water levels are back to normal, so it was a good, non-terrifying swim.

I've needed a bike helmet for a year now.  I've borrowed two, but neither fit properly.  I finally sucked it up & bought a helmet.  I also bought this little hand pump, much to the chagrin of everyone I know, apparently.  John's obsessed with it, so he's going to keep it & I guess I'm going to buy CO2 - ?  I don't even know what that means, but you people sure are opinionated on this subject.

On Saturday night, we went to Anatolia with our friends Mike & Amanda.  John & Mike ordered these crazy drinks called Raki.  That metal bowl the glass is sitting in has ice in it.  I didn't taste it because I couldn't get past the smell.  John loved it, of course.

On Sunday, Lana & I met Hot Koh Koh for a long ride on Natchez Trace.  Julie was riding 40 & we were riding 25, so we parted ways at 12.5 miles.  I didn't realize how long it would take me to ride 25 miles, so I stupidly only brought water.  I should have brought a Gu, or anything really.  By the time we rode 25 miles, ran 2 & I got in my car to drive home, my legs were cramping & I kept trying to shift my steering wheel.  It was really not awesome.

Post ride, I chugged a chocolate milk & swallowed 4 ibuprofen & headed east to my friend Alexis' 30th birthday party.  I'm not even going to explain this picture.  I'm just going to let you wonder...

On Sunday night, I took 4 more ibuprofen & tried to sleep, but I had the jimmy legs & didn't get much rest.  I'm back to normal today, but yesterday was touch & go.
