January Beauty Favorites
Inspired by
, here are some of my January favorites. There is a reoccurring theme of moisture. I'm in Tennessee & we've been in & out of a polar vortex for weeks. This has been an all-hands-on-deck month for skin, which leads me to my second favorite hash tag: #womenbescratching.
I use
every morning when I get out of the shower. It's my favorite winter body lotion. I keep the
on my nightstand & coat my paws in it every night before bed. That's also when I use the
. On nights when it's not 4 degrees, I switch it up & use
100% Coconut Pure Nourishing Body Cream
from Birchbox. I LOVE the scent. In the morning, I use
Sally Hansen cuticle massage cream
, usually when I'm not wearing nail polish.
My love for all things Jo Malone knows no bounds. I'm real into this system of layering cologne over oil. Before I leave the house in the mornings, I put the
on my wrists & forearms & then cover with
. It's kind of my signature scent. P.S. This oil is a year old & I use it every day, so don't be scared of the price tag. It lasts.
Make-up! I don't change my make-up a lot, but I did just replenish my Bobbi Brown supply. I LOVE the Bobbi Brown
&
. I wear Shore in the shadow & Steel Ink in the liner. I was introduced to
via Birchbox & have been wearing it ever since. I wear Beauty Queen. It's especially great for dry, winter skin. I think this
was a Sephora sample - I can't remember, but I really like it. I put it on my cheekbones as a highlighter.
Sorry, this picture is terrible. But, lips! I'm going through a serious red lip phase this year. My # 1 fav is
from Birchbox in Red Velvet. My other, newer favorite red is a Lancome freebie my friend Lana passed on to me. It's
in Red Stiletto. Lancome! Who knew? When my lips aren't coated in red lipstick, I'm coating them in
& this awesome candy cane Chap Stick I got during Christmas.
Y'all know I love a self-manicure. I paint my nails every week. It's very therapeutic for me. This month I've been alternating between
& Birchbox
. I just started using
as my base coat & I LOVE it. My polish does not chip! Last, but not least, my trusty
OPI for Sephora Only Gold For Me
glitter top coat, which I will apparently never tire of.
Coming up next month: eye creams, hydrating masks & facial moisturizers. I swim twice a week & use RetinA - that coupled with winter weather is causing my face to peel. It's bad. Once I figure out how to keep my skin on my face, I'll report back.
To be continued...
